ONG shut off my gas. What are my next steps?

Plain-English plumbing guidance for Oklahoma homeowners. A useful starting point, not a diagnosis for your home.

THE SHORT ANSWER

First find out from Oklahoma Natural Gas why service was shut off and what they require before restoration. It might involve a utility issue, a safety concern or work on customer-owned piping. Do not turn the meter back on, break seals or relight appliances against the utility's instructions. If there is a gas odor, leave your home immediately and, from outside, call 911 and ONG at 800-458-4251. If no gas odor is present, follow ONG's stated process and arrange a qualified plumber for any customer-side inspection, repairs or pressure testing it requests. Ask who will schedule the final return-to-service visit.
