VIP HOMEOWNER ANSWER LIBRARY · TOILETS

Why is there water around the base of my toilet?

Plain-English plumbing guidance for Oklahoma homeowners. A useful starting point, not a diagnosis for your home.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Water at the base may come from the supply connection, tank condensation, a loose tank connection, or a failed seal at the floor. Dry the area and look for where fresh water appears. Stop using the toilet if wastewater is escaping or the floor is becoming damaged.
